MA Bar Association Honors Local Attorney

Springfield, MA - The regional law firm of Bacon & Wilson, P.C is proud to announce that partner, Michael B. Katz, was awarded the MA Bar Association's Community Service Award at the Hampden County Bar Association's Annual Meeting on June 21, 2007. This honor recognizes all the charitable and civic work that he does and is awarded annually to the person selected as the most outstanding community leader. Katz was cited for 30+ years of service to the community, including participation as past President of the Jimmy Fund Council and Jewish Family Service, member of the Dana-Farber Visiting Committee and Clerk of the United Way of Pioneer Valley, where he remains a current Board Member and this year's Campaign Chairman.

Katz is is Co-Chairman of Bacon & Wilson, P.C.'s bankruptcy department. His practice is concentrated in business and insolvency law, and he has played a significant role in numerous successful reorganization cases. He also handles sophisticated healthcare law matters and is general counsel to many businesses including medical practices and individual physicians. His additional specialties include creditor's rights, commercial and corporate law. He lives in Longmeadow with his wife, Carole.
