  • June 23, 2016 - News: Attorney Kevin Maltby takes oath of office as President of Hampden County Bar Association

    Bacon Wilson is pleased to announce Attorney Kevin V. Maltby as President of the Hampden County Bar Association. Attorney Maltby took the oath of office in front of his partners and peers at the Bar Association’s annual meeting and membership dinner at the Springfield Sheraton on June 22, 2016.

    Upon learning of his election, Attorney Maltby remarked “I am enormously grateful to the members of the Bar Association for their confidence in me, and gratified to follow in the footsteps of my partners at Bacon Wilson, including past presidents Paul Rothschild, Hyman Darling, and Michael Ratner. I consider it an honor to be counted among their ranks. So many Bacon Wilson attorneys have, over their lengthy careers, given their time and legal skills to serve the Hampden County Bar.” Also in attendance were Attorney Michael B. Katz, who took office as Chair of the Bar’s Bankruptcy Section, and Attorney Paul R. Salvage, who was honored for his 50 years of membership.

  • January 1, 2016 - News: Bacon Wilson Announces Kevin V. Maltby as New Shareholder

    Bacon Wilson is pleased to announce that Kevin V. Maltby has been named a shareholder of the firm. Kevin’s practice is focused on litigation, employment law, and criminal defense. He is a member of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s Standing Advisory Committee on Professionalism and also serves on the Board of the Hampden County Bar Association. He has extensive jury trial and courtroom experience and is a former prosecutor for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. Kevin is also an Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at Bay Path University in Longmeadow, where he teaches litigation, advanced litigation, criminal law, and evidence. In 2014, Kevin was named as one of BusinessWest’ s 40 Under Forty. In 2013, he received the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Community Service Award, and in 2012, Kevin was honored with the Hampden County Bar Association’s Access to Justice Pro Bono Publico Award for vision and implementation of the Springfield District Court Lawyer for the Day program. Kevin has received the SuperLawyers Rising Star distinction each year from 2009-2015. Kevin earned his law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 2001, and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts in 1998. He lives in Longmeadow with his family. 

  • August 17, 2015 - News: Four Bacon Wilson attorneys named to Best Lawyers in America 2016

    Bacon Wilson is pleased to announce that four partners have been selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2016.   • June 11, 2015 - News: Attorney Kenneth J. Albano of Bacon Wilson receives Mass Bar Association Community Service Award

    Bacon Wilson is pleased to announce that senior partner Kenneth J. Albano was presented with the Massachusetts Bar Association Community Service Award on June 11, 2015, at the Hampden County Bar Association's Annual Meeting. Attorney Albano received this recognition due to his exceptional volunteer work and commitment to many local charities including the American Cancer Society, Make-A-Wish, the ALS Association, and most notably as Chair of the Board of Directors of the March of Dimes, Western Mass Division since 2013, and his work on the Board of Directors of the of the New England Chapter of the March of Dimes. 

    Upon learning of the award, Attorney Albano noted "I am very humbled to be recognized by the Massachusetts Bar, particularly for my work in support of sick children.” Albano further commented his charity work is also “a testament to Bacon Wilson’s commitment to our community."
