Attorney Honored as “Woman of the Year”

Springfield, MA – The Springfield based law firm of Bacon & Wilson, P.C. is pleased to announce that associate, Gina M. Barry has recently been distinguished as the Womens Business Owners Alliance (WBOA) Woman of the Year and given the Holyoke North Chapter of Business Network International’s (BNI) Givers Gain award.
WBOA awards its annual Woman of the Year distinction to a member who has shown great personal and professional growth, and also contributed to the success of other women. Barry was honored at the WBOA’s annual dinner at the Delaney House on June 16, 2005.
BNI offers the Givers Gain distinction in recognition of outstanding dedication to the principles of BNI. Barry was given this award at a meeting on June 15, 2005.
Attorney Barry is an associate in the Estate Planning and Elder Law Department, whose practice includes sophisticated estate planning issues. Additional areas of expertise include guardianship, conservatorship, planning for long-term care and residential real estate. She has also carved out a niche doing pet estate planning.
In addition to a long term commitment to the WBOA, Barry is co-chairman of the communications committee of the Women’s Partnership and the Assistant Vice President of the Business and Professional Women of Greater Springfield. She is also a active member of the Estate Planning Council of Hampden County and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She was cited as one of the ten Up and Coming Lawyers 2004 by MA Lawyers Weekly magazine, published by Lawyers Weekly, Inc.
Barry earned her J.D., cum laude from Western New England College School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude from Westfield State College. She lives in Holyoke.
